How it works

  1. Everyone gets the same picture, cut the same way, scrambled the same way. It changes at midnight UTC.
  2. Tap a tile to turn it a quarter turn clockwise.
  3. Drag a tile onto another to swap the two. On a keyboard, the arrow keys swap the focused tile with its neighbour.
  4. You're on the clock. It starts the moment the board appears and stops when the picture is whole, and that time is your score — fastest wins.
  5. Each turn and each swap is one move. Moves don't score, but par — the fewest a board can be solved in — is worth chasing anyway: the short way round is usually the quick one.
  6. We only tell you what the picture was once you've finished it. One attempt per day.
